Mr. Sarmast won first place for his humanitarian work devoting his time and efforts into re-building bombed out music school in Kabul, Afghanistan risking life and limb in a daily effort to teach music students. He also left his job, family and comfortable life in Australia and moved to Kabul solely for this purpose.
